What is front-of-house cleaning
We clean front-of-house areas only — reception, waiting rooms, corridors, restrooms and staff break areas. We do not clean exam rooms, operatories, or any clinical area, and we do not perform biohazard or OSHA-regulated cleaning.
That boundary is not a limitation we are apologising for. Clinical-area cleaning is a regulated trade with its own training, its own products and its own liability, and a practice is better served by a cleaner who says so than by one who lets you assume. Everything on the public side of your door is ours. Everything past it is yours or your clinical contractor's.
What can a commercial cleaner do in a medical office
A commercial cleaner keeps the parts of a practice that patients see and staff share: the room they wait in, the desk they check in at, the corridor they walk down, the restroom they use, and the break room the team eats in. That is a real job and a practice is judged on it — a waiting room is the first thing a new patient forms an opinion about.
Front-of-house areas we clean
- Reception desks, check-in counters and the waiting area, including seating and side tables
- Waiting-room floors, entry mats, glass doors and the marks that build up on them
- Public and staff restrooms — fixtures, mirrors, floors and touch points
- Corridors, stairwells and non-clinical common areas
- Staff break rooms — counters, sinks, tables, appliance fronts
- Doors, handles, switches, rails and the other shared touch points on the public side
We clean and wipe down high-touch surfaces as part of every visit. We do not make claims about infection control, disinfection efficacy, or reducing transmission — those are clinical claims and they are not ours to make.
What kinds of practices do you work with
Front-of-house cleaning suits any practice with a public side and a clinical side — dental practices, physical therapy and chiropractic clinics, optometry and audiology offices, counselling and behavioural-health practices, veterinary front offices, and the administrative wings of larger medical buildings.
If your practice has a reception area, a waiting room, restrooms and a staff room, there is a job here. If what you need cleaned is behind the treatment-room door, we are not the right contractor and we will tell you that on the walkthrough rather than after the invoice.

Do you clean exam rooms
No. Simply Keeping does not clean exam rooms, operatories, treatment rooms or any clinical area. Those spaces have regulated cleaning requirements that sit outside what a standard commercial cleaning company does. Our work stops at the front of the house — reception, waiting rooms, corridors, restrooms and staff break areas.
Do you handle medical waste or biohazard cleaning
No. Simply Keeping does not perform biohazard, bloodborne-pathogen or any OSHA-regulated cleaning, and does not handle medical waste of any kind. If a spill or a waste stream falls into those categories, it belongs to your clinical staff or a licensed remediation contractor, not to your cleaning contractor.
Do you clean dental practices
Yes, on the front-of-house side. A dental practice's reception, waiting area, corridors, restrooms and staff room are a standard commercial clean. Operatories are not — they are clinical space and they are outside our scope.
Do you provide any nursing, personal care or patient assistance
No. Simply Keeping is a cleaning company and provides no nursing, medical, personal or patient care of any kind. Vermont licenses home health and personal care separately, and Simply Keeping holds no such licence and does not offer those services.
Can you clean while the practice is open
Yes, though most practices prefer otherwise. Cleaning a waiting room while patients are sitting in it is possible but rarely comfortable, so front-of-house work usually happens before opening or after the last appointment. The window is agreed at the walkthrough and worked into your schedule, not ours.
